Another Miracle on the Hudson

~from familyfed.org

3,000 Unificationists gathered at the Belvedere Estate in Tarrytown, New York today to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of True Parents’ landmark rally at Yankee Stadium on June 1, 1976. Though more than three inches of continuous rain, thunder and lightning was in the forecast, the rain held off right until the very last moment when True Mother left the stage after her speech—and then the heavens really opened and the water came down in sheets.

Tables of Faith in Kansas

Unificationists Rev. Peeter Saarna and his wife Mieko have been building a relationship with the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council for several years, and recently participated in the Council’s latest Tables of Faith event at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City. At the event, different faiths set up booths to share more about their beliefs and practices and awards were given to both an individual and an organization to honor their work in interfaith. Rev. Saarna also contributed to the main portion of the event, “Mosaics in Motion,” in which individuals of different faiths shared about their definitive experiences in interfaith.

Yankee Stadium Rally, 1976: Behind the Scenes

from familyfed.org

Yankee Stadium 3

This week we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Yankee Stadium Rally, a decisive battle in God’s providence, when True Father shared a bold, historic declaration in America, titled, “America is God’s Hope”. In June of 1976, True Father gave a first-hand account of the Yankee Stadium Rally in an interview with Newsweek International, in which he shares his personal experience at the rally and explains why he chose America as the center of his mission in furthering God’s work.

We are blessed to be able to look to the Cham Bumo Gyeong, the third volume of the three Holy Scriptures, for this extensive, deep and eye-opening explanation of the providential meaning behind the rally, in True Father’s own words. In Book 6 of this thirteen-book volume, True Father explains why it was so crucial to speak to America at that precise moment, during the nations’s bicentennial.

Excerpts from the Cham Bumo Gyeong

“My success or failure at the Yankee Stadium Rally will have universal and historical significance. That is why God, Jesus Christ, Christianity, all humanity, the Unification Church and Reverend Moon of the Unification Church each placed their lives on the line in this fight. Satan knows this, which is why he is attacking through the American media and through public opposition. I have yearned and prepared for this moment, June 1, 1976, since my youth. It will be a time of joy if we are successful, but a time of misery if we fail. It is a time of joy, but also a fearful time.”

“American citizens and the government are in an uproar. America’s 200-year history corresponds to the last 2,000 years of indemnity. The number 2 in 200 years and the 2nd year of this seven-year course are precisely matched. Today the 200-year period is being claimed as indemnity, and this final battle will determine victory or defeat in both spirit and body on the global level. The front line of that battle is the 1976 Yankee Stadium Rally. This rally will be a war unprecedented in history.”

“There were torrential rains and strong winds when the Yankee Stadium Rally began. We were desperate; everyone sang ‘You Are My Sunshine’ in the pouring rain, and the band joined in. Our voices were singing, yet tears were flowing and mixing with the rain. You probably wanted to shout, “I would be so grateful if the rain stopped! Rain, stop now!” That is a natural reaction and we all shared the same heart. God is the only one who has the power to teach us like that for 20 minutes, so I offered a prayer of gratitude. I wanted to teach the young people of America about God’s heart and this is what occurred during the rally.”

Many will celebrate the historic 40-year anniversary of the Yankee Stadium Rally this weekend at the God Bless America Family Festival in Tarrytown, NY. Expecting a similar forecast of rain and severe thunderstorms, we hope to connect more deeply to True Parents’ and God’s heart for this nation as we hear True Mother’s message and vision for 2020 and beyond.

The Cham Bumo Gyeong: A Priceless Addition to Your Home Library

1D3A3920

The Cham Bumo Gyeong is a detailed account of True Parents’ life course in their own words, drawn from the vast wealth of their recorded spiritual and practical guidance. In it, True Parents talk in depth about the major providential events over which they have presided, and the significance behind the timing and planning of these providential milestones.

As stated in the book’s preface, “It is not easy to fathom the depths of True Father’s teachings, which cover a tremendous range of subject matter, as wide as the sky and as deep as the ocean … True Parents’ personal testimony forms the backbone of this volume.”

You can order a copy of the Cham Bumo Gyeong online, as study material for your daily devotion and to follow in True Parents’ footsteps as we move forward in these next Four Years of Hope.

Cheon Il Guk IW Supports Local Tribal Messiahship

~from familyfed.org

From May 21 – 23, Rev. Hiroshi Inose, Director of Kodan and Cheon Il Guk IW to America, and his wife, Mrs. Hatsune Inose, made a few visits to the Unification communities in Maryland and Washington, D.C. to share in fellowship and planning surrounding outreach and Tribal Messiahship.

On Saturday, May 21, Rev. Inose and the local community welcomed their new Kodan leader for District 1, Mr. and Mrs. Tsurusaki at the Washington, D.C. Family Church. On Sunday, Rev. Inose gave a sermon at the New Hope Family Church, where he emphasized the value of working in trinities for Tribal Messiahship. He later took the time answer questions the community had. On Monday, he was able to meet community members individually, listen to their stories and concerns, and provide individualized suggestions for outreach endeavors.

Throughout the visit and in his messages, Rev. Inose highlighted the Yankee Stadium Rally of 1976, and its 40th anniversary approaching on June 1st. This gave listeners a focus point and a clear determination to invite people to the God Bless America Family Festival in Belvedere on June 5, which will be an opportunity to share with guests about True Parents’ legacy in America. Find out more about the festival and register here.
