On May 30, Naokimi Ushiroda, President of the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) USA, presented a check for $50,000 on behalf of FFWPU USA for the families of Kumamoto, Japan who lost their homes due to a recent high magnitude earthquake. These funds are part of an ongoing online fundraiser at familyfed.org/support.
In addition to the donation, a set of the three Holy Scriptures were given as a gift to Rev. Yeon Cheon Song, Chairman of Japan’s Blessed Families Federation.
“Rev. Song and the leaders of FFWPU Japan were very happy and grateful,” commented Nina Urbonya, CARP USA International Liaison, who is currently in Japan participating in a cultural exchange trip between CARP USA and CARP Japan.
Since the initial earthquake in April, over 60,000 houses in Japan were destroyed or damaged. In the Unificationist community, over 100 families had to live in shelters, nearby churches, or the homes of friends until they could be provided with temporary housing. True Mother designated a large donation to the disaster relief efforts, FFWPU Japan has sent volunteers to relief sites, and FFWPU USA is continuously raising funds for Japan in hopes of a quick recovery.
You can still make a donation here to support relief efforts in Japan. Together have raised over $60,000 so far and hope to continue to give!
