After holding Sunday Service at a local movie theater for the last five years, the Los Angeles Family Church has finally moved into their very own church building. On Sunday, August 28, an opening and dedication ceremony was held at the new building. Continental Director of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in North America Dr. Ki Hoon Kim and President of FFWPU USA Dr. Michael Balcomb with his wife Fumiko Balcomb presided over ceremony, which included a ribbon cutting, a dedication prayer, and a symbolic sanctification of the building with Holy Salt.
A lively commemorative church service followed. Community member Don Makowski began the service with an opening prayer. Dr. Kim then offered words of encouragement, followed by congratulatory remarks by Dr. Nicholas Benson and a slideshow presentation of the history of the Los Angeles Family Church.
Dr. Balcomb gave the sermon, the service concluding with the presentation of plaques of appreciation to various community members by Rev. Young Tack Yang, District Pastor of District 12, and three cheers of Eog Mansei led by Rev. Chang Woon Jeong, KEA Pastor of Los Angeles.
